National Quality Forum Endorses Diabetes-Related PQIs

Washington, DC - The National Quality Forum (NQF) has announced the endorsement of 29 national voluntary consensus standards for diabetes care for internal quality improvement (QI) and community-level monitoring. The voluntary consensus standards represent the consensus of the more than 270 organizations that are members of the NQF.

The measures that deal with complication-related admissions are based on four of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Prevention Quality Indicators (PQIs):
NQF is a voluntary consensus standard-setting organization. It is a private, not-for-profit, public benefit corporation established in 1999 to standardize healthcare quality measurement and reporting.
